In the Coachman's Cottage we have two interconnecting rooms upstairs to sleep up to 4, ideally two adults and two children.   All bed linen is provided.  The main bedroom can be arranged as twin or double (2 metre wide bed).  This room has a splendid view over the Dart Valley.  It is reached through a lounge/bedroom which has two single futons and a comfortable corner sofa unit.  It is equipped with a colour TV with freeview channels.   

Downstairs is the shower room, with shower, handbasin, toilet and heated towel rail.  Towels can be provided at a cost of 50p per item.

The kitchen / dining room is also downstairs.  This is equipped with electric cooker, fridge with separate freezer compartment, and microwave oven.  There is a complete set of crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils.

The cottage has full central heating throughout.  Heating is provided at no additional charge for up to 11 hours per day (for example 3-4 hours morning & 7-8 hours evening).   Any additional heating is charged at 50p per hour.

The tap water comes from our own borehole and is UV treated.  The annual tests show it to be pure and suitable for drinking.

In the garden below the cottage is a patio area in a sheltered position where you can sit and enjoy the moorland view.  A barbecue is available for your use.

Car parking is at the side of the cottage (to the left of the adjacent picture).

On arrival guests should come down through the garden to the main house, or to avoid steps can come via the road to the front door.

Guests are also able to use the visitors' lounge in the main house;  this has a woodburning stove, a small library of books, many about Dartmoor, and a selection of board games.  There is also a notice board showing local walks and other information.

As we have an ecological waste disposal system which is finely balanced, we regret we cannot provide unlimited clothes washing facilities.    We will wash a load of clothes for you, at a rate of £2.50 per load + £2.50 for drying.   The washing line, out during the day, may be used for wet clothes.   Please do not use any strong detergents, bleach, or anti-bacterial cleaners.  

SELF CATERING BOOKING TERMS AND CONDITIONS

BOOKING PERIOD: Weekly bookings run from Saturday to Saturday with arrival after 2 pm and departure by 11 am.

DEPOSITS:  A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total cost is required, the balance to be paid on arrival at the cottage.  We accept most major credit and debit cards. You may also pay by cheque but no booking is guaranteed until a deposit has been received and acknowledged.  Please make any cheques payable to "Hunter's Lodge B & B". N.B. For part weeks, the deposit is 50%.

You are advised to take out holiday insurance to cover cancellation.

DOGS:  Well-behaved dogs (max.2)are accepted in the cottage provided you undertake to prevent them climbing on the furniture, chewing the woodwork or fouling the garden. Please bring your own dog beds etc.

NON-SMOKING POLICY:  Please note that smoking is not allowed at any time in the cottage.  The garden is at visitors' disposal - garden furniture is provided.
