How
to find Hunter's
Lodge
Dartmeet is approximately
200 miles (320 km) south-west of London. The drive on the M3 / A303
/ A38 via Exeter takes about 3½ hours.
Coming from Exeter :
 |
take the A38 Plymouth road |
 |
at Ashburton take the second exit,
known as Peartree Cross, turn right immediately over the bridge and head
towards Princetown and Two Bridges on the B3352 |
 |
after approximately 7 miles you will
reach Dartmeet after a steep descent - Badger's Holt is signposted on
the right |
 |
Hunter's Lodge is the first house on
the right after the bridge |
 |
the car park entrance is the first
right after the house |
 |
follow the stone steps down
through the garden to the house |
 | if arriving after dark, look for
the green light on the wall of the cottage and press this
switch to light the steps down to the house |

Coming from Plymouth :
 |
take the A38 towards Exeter and turn
left at the first Ashburton exit at the Peartree Cross then follow the
directions above |
 | alternatively, you can reach us across
the moor - take the A386 out of Plymouth to Yelverton and follow signs
to Princetown, Two Bridges and Dartmeet |
 | continue to follow the signs to
Dartmeet until you enter a wooded area. After passing a shop
called Pixieland on your left, look out for our Hunter's Lodge B
and B sign also on the left about ½ mile further down |
 | see above for access to the house |

Coming from Cornwall :
 | head for Tavistock on the A390
from Liskeard or the B3362 from Launceston. In Tavistock, turn
left onto the A386 towards Okehampton, then after ½ mile turn right
onto the B3357 towards Two Bridges and Dartmeet |
 | continue to follow the signs to
Dartmeet until you enter a wooded area. After passing a shop
called Pixieland on your left, look out for our Hunter's Lodge B
and B sign also on the left about ½ mile further down |
 | see above for access to the house |

Public Transport :
 | The nearest railway station is in Newton Abbot, from where you can
get a taxi to Dartmeet (about 30 minutes). We can put you in
touch with a local firm who may be able to arrange to meet you and
give a better price than the cabs at the station. |
 | There is a bus service from Newton Abbot to Princetown, stopping at
Dartmeet, but it does not operate all year. |
